Her Adopted Baby’s Daddy: Chapter 3

Jules’ POV

I gave him Miranda’s address. We were suppose to have a girls night with Sofia. I had prepared ahead and packed a few things in a small bag along with essentials Ivy would need. It was suppose to last till Sunday but I think I’ll cut it short to tomorrow. I stared at Ivy’s adorable sleeping form in my arms. I still look at her everyday and can’t believe she’s mine.

I sighed.

I looked up to find that we were rounding the corner to Miranda’s apartment.

“Oh, just let me out there” I pointed in front of Miranda’s apartment.

“Here?” he asked not exactly sure.

“Yes” I said.

He stopped directly in front of Miranda’s apartment. He got out of the car and before I could ask what he was doing, got the door for me.

Oh…didn’t know the good samaritan was also a gentleman.

I got out gently and adjusted Ivy in one arm resting her head on my shoulder. I bent in to take my bag but Mr. Gentleman here had done that. He held it out for me to take.

I smiled reluctantly at him and took the bag.

“Thank you” I said… “For the ride” I turned before he said anything.

I walked towards the apartment and climbed up the fleet of stairs. I finally reached Miranda’s door. I knocked once and waited. No one answered so I knocked again.

“I’m coming” I heard someone yell from inside.

The door finally opened and I saw Sofia.

“Oh My God Jules, where have you been? You were suppose to be here an hour ago” she said.

“Who is it Sofi?” Miranda yelled from inside.

“It’s Jules” Sofia yelled back as she let me in and helped me with my bag.

Miranda came into the medium sized sitting room.

“Where have you been?” She asked “We called you a billion times”.

“I’m sorry. My car didn’t start and someone gave me a ride” I said placing Ivy on my lap.

Sofia bent and took her into her own arms while I shifted for her to sit beside me. Miranda took the other seat. “As for the calls, my phone has been on mute”.

“Oh…so who dropped you?” Sofia asked.

“A Gentleman” I said yawning.

“Oh My God, didn’t anyone ever tell you not to accept rides from strangers, and a male stranger at that” Miranda said “Was he hot…”

And that my friend was how our girls night started.

Ceaser’s POV

I just stared as she made her way towards the apartment and climbed up the stairs. I sighed.

I rounded the car and drove off. I couldn’t put my finger on it but there was something about her and her adorable baby. They just…I don’t know.

She was just mesmerizing. The way she looked at the baby in the car – she didn’t know I kept glancing at her and the baby – was like she couldn’t believe she had such a beautiful daughter and she’d do anything to make her happy. And the baby? The baby made my heart leap for joy. She was the perfect daughter.

I smiled at the fact that I was in search of my own daughter and here I was admiring someone else’s.

Shit!

It just occurred to me that I didn’t even know either of their names.

Why did I care, it’s not like I was planning to see them again. Right?

Deep in my heart, I had a feeling I was.

I sighed again.

Why did this feel weird?

I thought as I parked my car in my garage.

Jules’ POV

The girls night in was a success. Ivy woke up a while later. I fed her and then Sofi and Andy played with her till she got tired again. I put her to bed and went to hang with Andy and Sofi. We watched tv for a while then talked about how we are all single. Well I was safe cause I’m a single mom. No one would want to go out with a single mom who is also a workaholic.

I woke up this morning and got ready to leave after making breakfast for everyone. Ivy woke up later. I fed her and got her ready for today, for whatever we were gonna do. Andy woke up before I left and decided she and Sofi were gonna take Ivy out. So I had to leave Ivy with them and go home alone. They were gonna bring her home in the evening which meant I had today to myself.

I was working on a paper when I heard someone knock the door. I went to get it and was very surprised at who I saw standing in front of me.

“You.” I said after I recovered from the shock.

Ceaser’s POV

I woke up smiling. I had no idea why. Since I had nothing to do today, I decided to check out the address John gave me of that baby stealer, Jules Jenna.

I wasted no time at all after I reviewed some important documents. I left the house and went in search of Jules Jenna.

I finally spotted the house I was looking for. Thanks to the GPS, it didn’t take much time to find the house. I got out of the car and walked to the front door.

I sighed before I finally raised my hand to knock. It didn’t up to ten seconds before the door pulled open. I looked up from the floor and stared at the familiar face. My heart stung as shock spread through my body. My breath caught.

No. This wasn’t happening.

“You” she said. Just one word made my heart flutter. Her voice was like that of a seductress. It was like a whisper that made you tingle but also like a loud bass that made your heart go boom.

I released my breath, still speechless.

“What are you doing here?” She asked.

“What are ‘you’ doing here?” I asked, shocked to see her here as well. I can remember clearly, I didn’t drop her here yesterday. So what was she doing here, I wondered.

“I live here” she said as-a-matter-of-fact.

“Oh. With the owner of the house?” I asked. Cause I needed to be sure. If she owned the house then…

“I own the house…” she said “…now at least” she murmured.

“Who owned it before?” I asked, praying silently that she would give me a name and I’d be on my way in search of the previous owners.

She stilled and just stared at me. She shook her head and blinked fast. Then she looked back at me.

“I’m sorry for my bad manners. Do you wanna come in?” She smiled at me.

Wait. What just happened?

“Uh, sure” I said and stepped in as she opened the door wide.

I entered and waited for her to shut the door. She led me to the sitting room which I could see from here.

We reached the sitting room and I saw some paperwork on the floor and a laptop on the table.

She was working.

“I’m sorry about the mess” she said as she bent down to gather the papers, she shut the laptop, placed the papers in it and took it to the kitchen cabinet which wasn’t far from here. “Have a seat please”.

I sat and waited for her to join me.

“Do you want anything?” She called from the kitchen.

“Water is fine” I said.

I needed to cool down after that shock.

I heard the tap run, then few seconds later she came back with a cup of clear water and handed it to me.

“Thanks” I took it from her and took a sip.

She sat down on the seat at my right. I placed the glass on the table and turned to face her.

“I want to thank you for yesterday. You made it so much easier for me” she said smiling.

“Don’t mention” I shook my head smiling a little too.

“And I remembered I never got a chance to introduce myself yesterday” she continued.

“Yea, same here” I said.

“Well I’m Jules Jenna” she said.

My smile disappeared. My heart erupted.

That’s exactly what I was afraid of. That she’d end up being the one.

The one I hated. The one I called a “baby stealer”. The one whom all I wanted from was to get close to. Gain her trust. Then snatch my child slowly out of her hands.

But now, could I do that?

“Are you okay?” She asked looking concerned.

“Yea, I’m fine” I assured her as I stood up “Hmm, I have to go”.

She looked confused but snapped out of it quickly.

“Okay” she said as she followed me towards the door.

I opened it and got out. She held the door open and just watched me.

I rounded the car and opened the door. But before I got in I looked at her.

“I’m Ceaser by the way” I said.

She smiled and nodded.

I smiled back and got into the car and drove off.

This was wrong.

Everything felt wrong. I know her but at the same time I don’t .

She is the woman I dropped off last night. The woman I secretly looked forward to meeting again. The woman that made me nervous. The woman that made my heart feel…weird. The woman whose voice makes me growl and whose eyes makes me lost.

I sighed

What exactly am I suppose to do now that I know she’s the woman that took my child. The woman I intended to hurt emotionally by taking my child back.

I was so freaking confused. I pulled the car into the drive way and got out. I slammed the door and made my way inside the apartment, into my room. I lay on my back, facing the ceiling with my hands behind my head.

I sighed.

Jules’ POV

I closed the door after he left and rested my back against it. I sighed and placed my hand on my beating heart.

How in the world did he do this to my steady heart.

I didn’t get a good look at him last night but today, I was hit so hard. He was…flawless.

I’ve never been this way just by looking at a guy. But something about him made my heart race so fast…and furious.

The way he literally ran out of the house after I told him my name was weird. Something was up and I needed to know. Or maybe it was just my imagination.

I walked back into the kitchen and continued working, trying to keep this “Ceaser” out of my head.

Don’t be surprised when I say, I didn’t get anything done…
